Dr. Brooks is a Senior Researcher with the Life Expectancy Project. He is the 2009 recipient of the MacKeith Press Promising Career Award from the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, and the 2012 recipient of the Erich Lehmann Award for the outstanding dissertation in theoretical statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.

  1. Life expectancy of persons with developmental disabilities, with emphasis on cerebral palsy.

  2. Life expectancy of persons who have suffered anoxic, hypoxic, traumatic brain, or spinal cord injuries.

  3. Life expectancy of persons with various medical conditions, such as stroke, cancer, and liver disease.

  4. Incidence and prevalence of developmental disability.

  5. Growth and weight charts for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
